As director of the Alaska Center for Resource Families (ACRF) since 2025, Desiree works to ensure caregivers feel supported, connected, and well-prepared.
She partners with Alaska’s Office of Children’s Services and the Resource Family Advisory Board to bring caregiver voices into the work. Together, they work to strengthen support for foster, adoptive, and kinship families across Alaska.
A lifelong Alaskan, Desiree has more than 10 years of experience working with youth and families. Her background includes roles in case management, therapeutic support, training, and program development. Much of this work involved leading caregiver education programs based on feedback from people with lived experience.
Desiree brings a trauma-informed, relationship-centered approach to her work. Some of her most meaningful moments come when a training concept becomes clear, a new tool makes life easier, or a caregiver feels more confident and prepared to support a young person. She holds a master’s degree in human and social services.
